Dr. William E. Hutson is a retired engineering executive with a career-long focus on building enterprise-class software products, most recently AI-enabled healthcare and life sciences products. He holds a Ph.D. in Ergonomics/Human Factors Engineering from North Carolina State University, an M.S. in the same field from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an experimental focus from Frostburg State University. He has secured several patents related to his work in technology and human interaction. His scholarly interests center on AI, human-computer interaction, human-centered design, and the application of human factors to technology in healthcare. Dr. Hutson has published occasionally, including technical reports, patents, and peer-reviewed articles, with contributions to conferences like EPIC and CHI. Dr. Hutson & his interests extend beyond the application of technology to human problems; he’s also developed an interest in building new organizational capacity within technical teams, creating development environments that promote both technological innovation and team
member growth. His professional journey also includes military service with the United States Marine Corps, with multiple combat deployments.
