PHIL 240

Logic

3 Credits

This introduction to formal and informal logic surveys particular philosophers in order to develop an understanding of key principles and form habits of reasoning and argumentation. Topics include propositions, syllogisms, soundness, validity, deductive and inductive reasoning, and fallacies. This introduction also situates the course material within the wider context of the importance of truth, Jesus as the Divine Reason who gives creation its intelligibility, and the limits of human reason.
