Dr. Shaffo, educator and author, has a PhD in Hebrew Bible from Bar-Ilan University and holds two Master’s degrees: one in Theology with an emphasis on Church Fathers and the New Testament from Sacred Heart Major Seminary and the other in Hebrew Bible from Bar-Ilan. While a student, he was a proud Student Ambassador for Bar-Ilan University’s International Program in Ramat Gan, Israel, and he also taught Biblical Hebrew online with the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies (IIBS), which is accredited through Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. An educator for ten years serving at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels, he currently serves the Church in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Dr. Shaffo has published two articles in major Bible journals and has his dissertation and Master’s theses published in the libraries of his Alma Mater. He also wrote daily Bible reflections as a “ghostwriter” for the Catholic men’s company Exodus90.
Dr. Shaffo fell in love with teaching after his first teaching mission experience in Benque Viejo in Belize, Central America, where his students were bilingual in Spanish and English. Since then, he has led several mission trips throughout the country and loves to travel abroad. He plans on spending this summer in Israel and wants to volunteer at an archeological dig hosted by Bar-Ilan University.
