Patty Mazariegos, educator and writer, holds a Master’s Degree in Catechesis from The Catholic University of America and a Master’s Degree in Matrimony and Family Studies from the University of Navarre in Spain. An educator for more than two decades serving at the elementary, high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels, she currently serves as an instructor for the Faith Formation Program in the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis of the Archdiocese of Washington (ADW). She has extensive experience working with Family Life and Marriage Preparation & Enrichment at the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Providence, RI. She has strong experience in developing and delivering catechetical programs.
She designed, implemented, and taught comprehensive adult faith formation programs, with particular attention to family catechesis and the systematic study of Catholic catechesis. These programs were structured to provide a rigorous intellectual foundation while also fostering practical competencies, equipping participants to integrate their faith into family, parish, and community life.
She has written more than 60 short articles about family, marriage, and children’s education for the Rhode Island Catholic (Spanish version) and El Pregonero.
Perhaps her most important work is putting this theory into practice: she enjoys spending time with her husband and seven boys, visiting interesting places, or watching them practice sports. As with most lifetime projects, her inspiration is incarnate in her closest teammates, her family.
