About Marcellino D’Ambrosio, PhD

Catholic International welcomed Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio to the faculty in January 2016. Also known as “Dr. Italy,” Dr. D’Ambrosio earned his PhD in historical theology from Catholic University of America under the direction of renowned theologian Avery Cardinal Dulles. His academic essays have been published in Communio, an international journal of Catholic theology. His best-selling book on the Fathers of the Church, When the Church Was Young, is used as a required texts in theology courses across the US. He has won two Telly awards for his video courses with
Ascension Press Jesus: the Way, the Truth and the Life and What We Believe: the Beauty of the Catholic Faith. Marcellino currently teaches at the International Catholic University having taught previously at Loyola College Maryland and the University of Dallas. Dr. D’Ambrosio is the Director of Crossroads Productions, Inc., an apostolate of renewal and evangelizaing which he curates an extensive Catholic website, leads pilgrimages to Europe and the Holy Land. Under the auspices of Crossroads, Dr. Italy speaks at numerous conferences and parish events and appears on radio and television including EWTN, Relevant Radio, Catholic Sirius network, and Fox News. Especially interested in evangelizing through all forms of media, Dr. D’Ambrosio is currently working on the production of a new movie on St. Maximilian Kolbe, Triumph of the Heart, and is set to appear in a new video study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church to be released by Ascension Press in 2025.
