Julia Dezelski is Associate Director for Marriage and Family Life at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and a consultor to the Vatican’s Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life.
An international speaker, writer, and advocate for the family, she has spoken widely on the call to motherhood, the role of women in the Church, and the sanctity of family life.
Dr. Dezelski spent over a decade in Rome where she earned numerous degrees from pontifical universities including a magister in Religious Sciences and diploma in Spirituality, a Licentiate from the Pontifical Lateran University (Lateranense) and a doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum). While in Rome, she assisted with translations for the postulation office for the cause of Pope John Paul II. During her tenure abroad, Dr. Dezelski traveled to over 45 countries, as a missionary and educator.
Currently, Dr. Dezelski serves on the board of the Catholic Family Life Association and the National Council of Catholic Women. She is a member of the Academy of Catholic Theology. She is a lecturer in the Doctorate of Ministry program at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
Recently she founded and co-directs a tutorial for homeschooling families while seeking to live out the call to form a domestic church with her husband and four daughters.
