About Joshua Hood, PhD

Professor Hood’s language experience is broad, having studied Latin, Syriac, Coptic, Greek, classical Arabic, Biblical Hebrew, and classical Armenian. He has been named a partial Fellow in the Digital Humanities at Beth Mardutho: The Syriac Institute and is currently editing and translating a cycle of Syriac hymns by the East Syrian liturgical poet Giwargis Warda. Professor Hood is also versed in translating works in Greek and Latin. He resides in Virginia with his wife and three children.
