Christina Hip-Flores, canonist, attorney, and educator, holds a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America (2021) and a Doctorate in Canon Law from the University of Navarra (2015). She works as an ecclesiastical judge, canonical consultant, and international speaker. Dr. Hip-Flores’s areas of canonical practice include causes of marriage nullity and penal causes. She also practices federal immigration law (defensive asylum and other forms of humanitarian relief). She is a canonical consultant for the Archdiocese of Washington, the Archdiocese of Monterey, and the Archdiocese of Santiago in Cuba. She holds the office of ecclesiastical judge in the Diocese of Phoenix, and defender of the bond in various other American tribunals. She speaks frequently in the United States and Latin America, especially on the topics of marriage law, consecrated life, and associations of the faithful. Her doctoral dissertation, “Ordo Viduarum: Consecrated Widows in Canon Law,” was published as articles in several scholarly journals including Ius Canonicum and Logos. She is a founding member of the network Ordo Virginum de Latinoamerica y el Caribe, in collaboration with CELAM (Conferencia Episcopal Latinoamericano).
