About Alissa Thorell, MTS
Professor Thorell holds an MTS in Theology, Biotechnology, and Ethics from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family Studies. She also holds a BA in Theology and Catechetics from Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Besides teaching for CDU, Professor Thorell is also a curriculum reviewer for the Subcommittee on the Catechism at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. She serves on a number of consulting and advisory boards for her local parish school, CDU, and the USCCB.
Her former experience includes working for the USCCB in the Secretariat of Evangelization and Catechesis as the catechism specialist. She has also worked in college campus ministry, youth ministry, and middle school/high school education. Her international volunteer experience includes missions in Ethiopia, Jamaica, and Haiti. She currently resides near Richmond, VA, with her husband and children.
