In this Fundamental Moral Theology course, students will analyze the biblical foundations of human dignity and original sin, and examine their implications for ethical reasoning. Students will evaluate the moral law, Beatitudes, and the pursuit of happiness and virtue, making critical connections to historical and theological contexts. They will synthesize theological perspectives on salvation history and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, integrating these insights into a coherent framework for moral living. Additionally, students will apply Catholic Social Teaching to contemporary issues such as marriage, family, gender, sexuality, life ethics, economics, and politics, developing informed and reflective responses. By engaging with primary Catholic magisterial texts and theological discourse, students will assess the morality of particular case studies and articulate their insights with intellectual rigor and pastoral sensitivity.
