Accessible Learning at Catholic International University
At Catholic International University, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive academically and spiritually. We recognize that learning styles and needs vary, and we are here to support students with disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations that enable success.
How to Request Accommodations
If you are a current student and believe you may need accommodations based on the impact of a disability, follow these simple steps:
Complete the E-Form: The Registrar will assign the ADA Accommodations Request e-form to you in Populi. Fill out the form and upload all required documentation.
Review Process: Once submitted, our team will carefully review your materials to determine reasonable accommodations.
Receive Your Plan: The Registrar will inform you of the approved accommodations.
Important: After accommodations are approved, it is your responsibility to coordinate with faculty or staff to implement them in your courses or other programming.
Examples of Common Accommodations
While maintaining academic standards, Catholic International University typically provides accommodations such as:
Extra time on exams
Extended deadlines for assignments
Alternate assessments (e.g., oral exams instead of written)
Certain services, such as personal tutors, coaches, or assistive technology, may not be available.
Appeals
If you would like to appeal a decision regarding accommodations, you may submit a written appeal to the Provost.
Additional Policies: Refer to the Student Handbook for full details. Spanish versions of the Student Handbook and webpage are also available.
At Catholic International University, we strive to honor our mission of Gaudium de Veritate: Joy from the Truth by ensuring every student has the opportunity to excel.
