Fr Robert Whitney, priest and educator, holds a doctorate from the University of Mary. An educator for 15 years serving at the elementary and high school levels, he currently serves as pastor of two rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau.
He currently teaches adult faith formation, OCIA, OCIC, and CCD at his parishes. As an educational expert, he is especially interested in the confluence of the Liberal Arts Tradition and the Catholic Faith. He defended his doctoral dissertation on the pedagogy and educational thought of Dr John Senior (1923-1999), a renowned professor of Classics and Catholic convert.
Fr. Whitney currently serves as the Alaska State Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus and as a Knight Commander and Chaplain of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Until recently, he also served as Priest Advisor to the Board and Chaplain of St. Therese’s Camp in Wasilla, Alaska. In each of those capacities he has led retreats and pilgrimages, as well as given many lectures and presentations on Catholic theology, spirituality, and culture.
