Juan Guillermo Ortiz Martinez, a physician specializing in Orthopedics and Traumatology,
a specialist in Bioethics, and a master’s in theology, has been a professor at the University
of La Sabana for 22 years. He has experience in undergraduate and graduate education and
various training courses.

Juan Guillermo Ortiz Martinez has published articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
in his field of expertise and in a blog in the newspaper El Espectador, where he clearly
defends the dignity of the human person with a Christian identity and Catholic clarity.

He was the general director of the Clinica Universidad de La Sabana for 12 years. This is
the university hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, which maintains a Christian identity and
defends life from beginning to end.

He has been invited on several occasions to the Congress of the Republic to express his
position on the defense of life, Christian identity, Catholic anthropological conception and
on issues such as voluntary termination of pregnancy, the legalization of marijuana use, and
the current draft of a statutory euthanasia law.
