Catholic International University at NCEA 2025: A Joyful Witness to Catholic Education

Last week, Catholic International University had the privilege of representing our mission and programs at the 2025 National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) Conference, the largest and most influential gathering of Catholic educators in the United States. Held annually, the NCEA conference brings together thousands of Catholic school teachers, principals, superintendents, and thought leaders to share research, present papers, and explore the future of Catholic education.

This year’s conference was especially vibrant. Exhibitors ranged from well-known universities like Boston College School of Theology and Ministry and Ave Maria University, to newer institutions like Catholic Polytechnic, to organizations offering school uniforms and other essential services to Catholic schools. Amid this dynamic lineup, our booth stood out as a beacon for Catholic educators seeking academic excellence rooted in the faith.

We were deeply encouraged by the strong interest in our programs. Many attendees recognized our former name: Catholic Distance University, and the reputation and mission we now carry forward as Catholic International University. What we heard again and again was a longing: teachers, administrators, and catechists deeply desire to continue their education—but often find themselves unable to pursue in-person study due to their demanding schedules.

Our fully online, accredited, Newman Guide-recommended, and ATS-accredited programs spoke directly to this need. From our Early College offerings to Liberal Arts and Theology degrees, visitors were excited to learn about the flexibility and depth of formation we offer. In fact, our presence caught the attention of a local Catholic radio station, which interviewed us on-site about how we’re meeting the needs of today’s Catholic educators and families.

The conference wasn’t just academic—it was liturgical and communal. Each day began with Mass, and the final liturgy was a powerful witness: nearly 300 attendees joined in prayer with 10 priests concelebrating, led by the local archbishop. It was a moving reminder of the spiritual heart of Catholic education.

As we look back on NCEA 2025, we are filled with gratitude—for the conversations, the connections, and the clear call to serve. Thank you to all who stopped by our booth. May we continue to respond to Christ’s invitation to teach all nations, with joy from the truth—Gaudium de Veritate.
